To Be a Tiger Queen
She must be proud, so her head lifts up high.
She must be fierce, so her brows curve intensely.
She must be strong, so her muscles ripple endlessly.
She must be brave, so her eyes show no fear.
She must be powerful, so her coat ruffles luxuriously.
She must be destroyed, so her mind is the remainder.
A cacophony of colors is not enough, so she becomes the rainbow.
A menagerie of marbles too dull, so she shines brighter than the sun.
An ocean of coral would be insufficient, so she twists and turns into infinite possibilities.
A trove of treasures is not enough, so she emerges as the jewel in the crown.
A black and orange box is all that’s needed, so she is colored inside the lines.
Her song is spirited, so she trills enthusiastically.
Her chorale calming, so she croons expectantly.
Her ditty is lighthearted, so she chants happily.
Her silence desired, so the finale finishes.
The knowledge must be abundant, so she crams feverishly.
The wisdom ready without a moment’s notice, so she learns to think, truly think.
The mind must be hidden, so she hides.
Destroyed, limited, cut off, hidden.
Reigned in like a beast, until the leash snaps.
The tigress will never be a puppet for anyone or anything.
When freedom is liberated, it will never be tortured again.
